Our hikes are usually a one-day affair, leaving at the crack of dawn, and returning after sunset. The hikes are relatively strenuous. The total distances are between 10 and 25 miles, typically around 15 miles, with altitute differences up to 5-6 thousand feet. So it might be a good idea to get in shape before you decide to go. Most hikes involve walking along well-maintained trails, and no prior hiking experience is necessary. Recommended equipment depends on the season and weather, and be listed here shortly before each hike.
We will climb San Gorgonio, probably via Vivian Creek, starting in Forest Falls. This is a rather strenuous hike.
There might be a little bit of snow left around the summit, but no special gear will be needed. Check the weather report the day earlier and dress accordingly. Bring water and food.
We meet at the "new" Starbucks, corner University and Iowa, at 6:00AM, sharp!.
Expected return time 7PM (with very large standard deviation.)
