Description: Honors course corresponding to PHYS 040B. Topics include fluids; mechanical oscillations; sound waves and light waves; ray optics; temperature; heat; kinetic theory of gases; the laws of thermodynamics; and heat engines. Provides laboratory exercises illustrating the experimental foundations of physical principles and selected applications. For engineering and physical science majors.
