Description: A study of the devel- opment of Italian theatre from the commedia dell’arte to the present. Discusses works by Ruzzante, Mach- iavelli, Metastasio, Goldoni, Alfieri, Verga, Pirandello, Fo, and Rame. Includes videos of plays, melodramas, and operas. No knowledge of Italian required.
