Description: The study of the structure and function of the genetic material, including DNA structure, DNA replication and recombination, regulation of gene expression, and protein synthesis. Both prokaryotic and eukaryot- ic systems are examined, including contemporary recombinant DNA technology and applications of molecular cloning procedures.
