Description: Emphasizes chromosome-based processes that main- tain genome integrity and ensure accurate genome transmission during cell division. Topics are drawn from the primary literature and include chromatin structure and composition, DNA repair and recombi- nation, telomere function and chromosome mainte- nance, mitotic chromosome segregation, and check- point surveillance mechanisms.
