Description: Examines academic argument in significant written texts with a consideration of spoken texts. Includes reading with attention to tone, rhetoric, and evidence; writing effective and persuasive essays; writing and delivering speeches; and delivering multimodal presentations. Passing students satisfy UC ELWR and are eligible for WRIT 010 or WRIT 010S.
