Description: Surveys literature of the English Renaissance (1500-1660) focusing on historical and cultural contexts. May center on particular genres such as the sonnet or epic romance; examine sources in the classical or European traditions; explore the development of literary themes; or apply theoretical approaches such as ecocriticism or critical race studies. Course is repeatable as content or topic changes to a maximum of 8 units.
