Description: An introduction to the democratic purposes of education in K-12 contexts. Focuses on education’s role in preparing youth for active, thoughtful, equitable, and effective participation in a democratic society. Highlights the challenges and opportunities associated with societal changes such as the digital revolution, increasing student diversity, and sizable partisan divisions.
