Description: 4 hours. Prerequisite(s): student must take the Vietnamese placement examination. An introduction to the sound system and grammar of Vietnamese. Focuses on the development of the four skills: comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. Classes are conducted in Vietnamese as often as possible.
Credit: Credit is awarded for only one of the following sequences: VNM 001, VNM 002, and VNM 003; VNM 020A and VNM 020B.
