Description: Covers long-distance transmission of electric power. Emphasizes admittance and impedance modeling of components and systems; optimal power flow calculations and applications; symmetrical and asymmetrical fault calculations; economic operation of large- scale generation and transmission systems; and analysis of transmission and distribution networks.

Credit: May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Credit is awarded for one of the following EE 286A or EE 155.
