Description: Presents the basic concepts of nanoelectronics focusing on current flow through nanostructured devices. Topics include new paradigms of nanoelectronics, an atomistic view of electrical resistance, Schroedinger’s equation, Coulomb blockade, basis functions, bandstructure, quantum capacitance, level broadening, and coherent transport.

Credit: May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Credit is awarded for one of the following EE 285E or EE 162.
