Prerequisites: ITAL 101A with a grade of C- or better; restricted to class level standing of junior, or senior; or consent of instructor
Description: Studies the development of Italian theatre from the Commedia dell’Arte to the present. Works by Ruzzante, Machiavelli, Metastasio, Goldoni, Alfieri, Verga, Pirandello, Fo and Rame will be read and discussed in Italian. Clips of plays, melodramas and operas will be shown.
