Description: MSE 233B in-person section; graduate standing; or consent of instructor. Introduces the principles of failure analysis and prevention, emphasizing the influence of defects produced during casting, forming, and welding. Provides a fundamental understanding of overload failure modes, fatigue and fracture toughness, and creep.
Credit: May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Credit is awarded for one of the following MSE 233B or MSE 143.
