Description: Explores the principles and techniques of isotope tracer fractionation and mixing commonly used in ecology and environmental science. Introduces isotope notation, mixing models, and kinetic and equilibrium fractionation concepts. Includes case studies involving stable- and radioisotopes of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 4 units.
