Description: Explores the principles and techniques of isotope tracer fractionation and mixing commonly used in ecology and environmental science. Intro- duces isotope notation, mixing models, and kinetic and equilibrium fractionation concepts. Includes case studies involving stable- and radioisotopes of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur. May be taken Satisfacto- ry (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 4 units.
