Description: Covers fundamental theoretical concepts and computational tools for Electrical Engineering graduate students. Presents material relevant to electrical engineering applications. Topics include vector spaces; partitioned, unitary, and positive definite matrices; differential calculus with matrices; matrix decompositions; linear system solution; convex optimization; the Lagrangian method; KKT conditions; and nonlinear optimization methods.

Credit: May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor.
