Description: Prerequi- site(s): graduate standing or consent of instructor. Covers fundamental theoretical concepts and computational tools for Electrical Engineering graduate students. Presents material relevant to electrical en- gineering applications. Topics include vector spaces; partitioned, unitary, and positive definite matrices; Electrical and Computer Engineering differential calculus with matrices; matrix decomposi- tions; linear system solution; convex optimization; the Lagrangian method; KKT conditions; and nonlinear optimization methods.

Credit: May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor.
