Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: An introduction to the theoretical foundations and practical application of computational techniques for engineering design. Topics include geometric modeling, numerical optimi- zation, and artificial intelligence techniques. Includes programming projects in which both symbolic and numerical computational techniques are used to solve engineering problems.

Credit: May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor.
