Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: An introduction to the theoretical foundations and practical application of computational techniques for engineering design. Topics include geometric modeling, numerical optimization, and artificial intelligence techniques. Includes programming projects in which both symbolic and numerical computational techniques are used to solve engineering problems.

Credit: May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor.
