Description: Examines the late nineteenth-century origins and twentieth-century evolution of the meaning of hetero- sexuality in the United States. Includes the medical, psychological, and political history of heterosexuality; the race and gender components of heterosexuality; and the intersections of heterosexuality and queer- ness.
