Description: Examines the late nineteenth-century origins and twentieth-century evolution of the meaning of hetero- sexuality in the United States. Includes the medical, psychological, and political history of heterosexuality; the race and gender components of heterosexuality; and the intersections of heterosexuality and queer- ness. Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grading is not available. Cross-listed with LGBS 128. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Scienc- es, but not both.
