A comparative introduction to the develop- ment of cultures in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Addresses the origins of world civilizations; the ancient and classical periods from a global perspec- tive; and the evolution of complex political systems throughout the post-Classical world. Includes a comparative discussion of Western and Eastern world religions.
