Prerequisites: graduate standing; consent of instructor

Description: Examines the interrelationships among law, race, gender, equal protection doctrine, and the state. Addresses con- temporary theoretical challenges to concepts such as critical legal studies, critical race theory, “LatCrit,” and feminist jurisprudence. Students who submit a term paper receive a letter grade; other students receive a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 12 units.
