Description: Considers the writings and collective organizational strategies of African American women intellectuals and activists developed in response to the ways racial, sexual, and economic oppression work interde- pendently and are institutionalized. Follows black women’s agendas for social change from the early women’s slave narratives to the present. Cross-listed with HISA 134. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Hu- manities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
