Prerequisites: admission to the Ed- ucation Specialist Credential program

Description: Examines the materials, strategies, and approaches designed to im- prove reading and language skills, and discusses their research base; reviews diagnostic and assessment tools, and reading and language interventions; teach- es strategies to enhance speaking and writing skills in a socially and linguistically diverse student population; and reviews the challenges of teaching students with disabilities in mainstream settings.
