Description: An analysis of the successes and failures of economic development in the largest coun- try in Latin America. Reviews current issues facing Brazilian policy makers. Topics include historical lega- cies, import substitution and industrialization, poverty and inequality, agriculture and land reform, and the environmental impact of development.
