Description: A research seminar focusing on themes in the study of the American West from the colonial era to the present. Explores migration, expansion, and modern urban development. Includes historical interpretations, readings, discussions, and research. Students begin a paper based on archival research, oral history, and material culture. Graded In Progress (IP) until HIST 273A and HIST 273B are completed, at which time a final grade is assigned.
