Description: Introduces power system steady state and market analysis. Topics include system security criteria and security assessment; state estimation; automatic generation control; contingency screening and security constrained optimal power flow; the electricity market structure; security constrained economic dispatch and unit commitment; financial transmission rights; forward markets; and market power. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Credit is only awarded for one of EE 218 or EE 218V.
