Description: An introduction to Vietnamese history in the twentieth century. Covers the three Indochina wars (1945-1986) from different Vietnamese perspectives. Topics include experiences during French colonial rule; the anticolonial movements; periods of French and American military involvement up to 1975; the postwar society; and the post-doi moi society.
