Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: Examines the historical development of public and private elementary, secondary, and higher education in United States urban areas. Also explores the formal and informal educational programs offered by various social and cultural groups in urban communities from the late eighteenth century to the present. Course is repeatable as topics change.
