Description: Honors course corresponding to PHIL 009. Introduces the major camps in ethical theory - utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics, and feminist ethics. Applies these theories to critically examine contemporary issues in bioethics. Includes stem- cell research, assisted reproductive technologies, contract gestation, maternal-fetal conflicts, genetic and pharmacological enhancements, access to health care, and physician-assisted suicide.
