Description: Introduces applied geophysical methods used to explore and characterize the shallow subsurface. Topics include gravity, magnetism, seis- mic reflection and refraction, electrical resistivity, elec- tromagnetism, and ground penetrating radar. Explores techniques to solve problems related to groundwater, as well as environmental, mineral, and petroleum exploration and engineering issues. Requires a week- end field trip.
