Description: Examines theoretical Ethnic Studies approaches to the study of race and ethnicity in the United States. Assesses the relative strengths and weak- nesses of key theoretical paradigms. Perspectives may include symbolic interaction, phenomenology, class analy- sis, sovereignty, literary criticism, feminism, psychoanaly- sis, racial formation, critical race theory, postmodernism, and global or transnational.
