Description: Examines theoreti- cal approaches to the study of race and ethnicity in the United States. Assesses the relative strengths and weaknesses of key theoretical paradigms. Perspectives may include symbolic interaction, phe- nomenology, class analysis, sovereignty, literary criti- cism, feminism, psychoanalysis, racial formation, criti- cal race theory, postmodernism, and global or transnational.
