Description: A study of concurrent and parallel systems. Topics include mod- ular structure and design, interprocess communica- tion, synchronization, failures, persistence, and con- currency control. Also covers atomic transactions, recovery, language support, distributed interprocess communication, and implementation mechanisms. Provides preparation for the study of operating sys- tems, databases, and computer networking.
