Description: A study of concurrent and parallel systems. Topics include modular structure and design, interprocess communication, synchronization, failures, persistence, and concurrency control. Also covers atomic transac- tions, recovery, language support, distributed inter- process communication, and implementation mecha- nisms. Provides preparation for the study of operating systems, databases, and computer networking.
