Prerequisites: graduate standing

Description: An inquiry into some of the main philosophic issues arising from political life, such as the nature and justi- fication of authority, democracy, natural rights, justice, equality, and civil disobedience. Students who com- plete all writing assignments, including a term paper, receive a letter grade; other students receive a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade.
