Prerequisites: MATH 046, PHYS 040B, ME 010 with a grade of "C-" or better, ME 018

Description: Introduces principles of fluid mechanics relevant to mechanical engineering. Topics include shear stresses and viscosity, fluid statics, pressure, forces on sub- merged surfaces, Bernoulli and mechanical energy equations, control volume approach, mass conserva- tion, momentum and energy equations, the differential approach, turbulent flow in pipes, and lift and drag.

Credit: Credit is awarded for only one of CHE 114 or ME 113.
