Description: A survey of the wide-sweeping policy reforms since the 1980s and of contemporary public policy challenges in Latin America. Challenges discussed include extremely high levels of poverty and inequality, inade- quate educational and healthcare systems, pressures for land reform, problems of trade competitiveness, and recurring currency crises.
