Description: A survey of the wide-sweeping policy reforms since the 1980s and of contemporary public policy challenges in Latin America. Challenges discussed include extremely high levels of poverty and inequality; inadequate educational and healthcare systems; pressures for land reform; problems of trade competitiveness; and recurring currency crises.
