Description: A study of the functional anatomy of vertebrates, includ- ing humans. Examines each organ system from a developmental and evolutionary perspective. Topics include phylogeny, the skeleton, muscles, and the nervous system. BIOL 161A, BIOL 161B, BIOL 171, and BIOL 171L provide a one-year sequence in ver- tebrate and human anatomy and physiology. Recommended for sophomores and juniors.
