Description: Examines the field of sexuality studies using a comparative, cross- cultural approach. Emphasizes the relation between culture, history, and political economy in the emer- gence of sexual practices and sexualized identities. Examines theories of sexuality and identity, with particular attention to violence, human rights, and political agency.
