Description: Examines the field of sexuality studies using a comparative, cross-cultural approach. Emphasizes the relation between culture, history, and political economy in the emergence of sexual practices and sexualized identities. Examines theories of sexuality and identity, with particular atten- tion to violence, human rights, and political agency.
