Description: Introduction to the metropolis Berlin as gateway between the East and West. Explores topog- raphy of the city through film, art, music, and literary texts. A study of Berlin’s dramatic transformations as a microcosm of Germany and Europe’s troubled histo- ry in the twentieth century. Course is conducted in English.
