Description: An intro- duction to the fundamentals of life processes at the cellular level. Topics include cell structure, chemical composition, metabolism, reproduction, genetics, and development with emphasis on humans. Not recom- mended for natural science majors. Either BIOL 002 or BIOL 003 may be taken as a breadth requirement in biology; together they provide a general introduction to the field of biology.
Credit: Credit is not awarded for BIOL 002 if it has already been awarded for BIOL 005A or BIOL 05LA.
