My Requirements for Committees
I am usually happy to participate in committees, unless I am swamped or traveling.
However I do have these conditions:
the talk will have to be approx. 25' assuming no interruptions.
so targeting for 25 slides may be good.
I will need a document at least week before. Ideally the document should be
less than 10 pages, or shorter if you can reference papers of yours
that you can provide as additional evidence.
Do you think you can abide by these requirements?
Potentially you may want to talk to your supervisor and make sure
that they are happy with this. If they are not, please notify me
or find a less "particular" commmittee member.
General Advice:
In general, you will need to make sure that *your* contributions to the work presented
will stand out, since this is exactly what we are asked to evaluate.
In your disposition, I have a couple of pages
on how a talk and a technical document
should be. It may be good to take a look.
Final notice: Bear in mind that I will give you a hard time,
and challenge you during the exam.
