All labs are web-based, which means all of the MyITLab and LearnCS8 labs must be completed and submitted online using a web browser. Note that it is highly recommended that you use the most recent version of Google Chrome to do the labs. Do not use Internet Explorer.

The process for submitting your labs are different for the MyITLab and LearnCS8 labs.

• For the MyITLabs, you must submit each lab through the MyITLab web site before 11:59 PM on the specified due date; it will be graded automatically. Please note that MyITLab allows you to save a lab without submitting it so that you can login later and continue working from where you left off. If you do save a lab, though, just make sure you login again and submit it before it is due. Also, you can submit a lab more than once, but once you have submitted a lab, you will have start over if you want to submit it again.
• For the LearnCS8 labs, you will need to upload the lab file(s) indicated on the last page of each lab's instructions to the LearnCS8.com web site by 11:59 PM on the specified due date; it will be graded automatically. Note that you can re-upload the lab file(s) for grading multiple times. You also need to share your AWS workspace with your TA before the due date for the first lab; see the instructions above.

Lab assignments can be submitted up to 7 days late for 75% credit. After that, no late labs will be accepted.

End-Of-Chapter Quizzes

• Each chapter from the e-book in MyITLab has an of end-of-chapter quiz. For each chapter we cover in the book, you must complete and submit the end-of-chapter quiz.
• The end-of-chapter quizzes can be found in the "Course Materials" section in MyITLab, same as the labs.
• You can take each quiz twice. If you take a quiz a second time, your score is the average of the two attempts.
• The due date for each quiz is before 9:00 AM on the day the midterm for the given chapter is given. For example, since midterm 1 is April 19, the end-of-chapter quizzes for chapters 1 and 2 are due before 9:00 AM on April 19.

No late end-of-chapter quizzes will be accepted.

Midterms

The midterms are not cumulative.

• Even though the University has resumed in-person instruction, the midterms will still be taken online via Canvas and Zoom.
• The midterms will be taken online in Canvas. They will be available only during the regularly-scheduled class times and will require a passcode.
• You will need to connect to a Zoom meeting (the details will be posted in Canvas) and turn on your webcam or, if your computer does not have a webcam, connect with your smart phone and use its camera. Either way, the camera should be pointed at you and should clearly show your face and immediate surroundings.
• When connecting to the Zoom meeting, use your full name. Do not use initials, abbreviations, etc.
• The Canvas passcode needed to open the midterm will be given in the Zoom meeting chat at the beginning of the class period.
• You should remain in the Zoom meeting with your camera turned on the entire time you are taking the test. After you have submitted your midterm in Canvas, you can then drop from the Zoom lecture meeting.
• Note that the midterms are not open-book; you cannot use the e-book or any notes.
