Prerequisites: LABR 001 or SEHE 001 or SEHE 002 or SEHE 002S; restricted to major(s) Environmental Studies, Global and Community Health, Labor Studies; completion of internship activities for 3 hours per week before enrollment; and consent of instructor
Description: Examines strategies for organizing and advocating for environmental justice and health equity within working class communities generally and within the Inland Empire. Provides hands-on professional experiences with community organizations related to environment and/or health justice. Critically reflects on internship experiences through course readings, in-class discussions, writing assignments, and oral presentations. Course is repeatable as content or topic changes to a maximum of 16 units.
