Description: Introduces statistical methods needed to analyze astronomical data. Provides case examples of problems in observational astronomy and applies statistical techniques to solve them. Covers probability, correlation and association, hypothesis testing, data modelling, maximum likelihood technique, detection and surveys, sequential data, and surface distribution.
