Prerequisites: graduate standing; or consent of instructor

Description: Intensive research in television studies. Includes screenings of series and readings in the scholarly tradition. Combines history of the medium, orientation to the field’s critical terms and techniques, and analysis of aesthetic practices. Prepares for conducting independent research in the field using multiple methods. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 8 units.
